the surrendered child

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well by the grace of God.

These are just a few tips on getting closer to the Father. Now, you need to understand that these tips cannot be done with human effort. The Holy Spirit alone can help you because God is spirit and it is the spirit in man (you and I) that connects to God. The Holy Spirit is the helper of the spirit in man ( John 14:16) . So, please remember the Holy Spirit.

Also, you need to understand that the Lord provides that hunger, the desire to get closer to Him. Your flesh would never truly desire a genuine relationship with the Lord because having a relationship with God requires death of the flesh. So we must ask God for the desire to get closer to Him before we implement these steps into our daily routines. John 6:65 says that no one can come to Jesus unless the Father has enabled them (NIV). We can only get close to Him if He allows us and this can be done by simply asking Him.

Tips📝
*An hour or so before you sleep, prepare an atmosphere for His presence to dwell in so He speaks to you through dreams and so that you sleep in His presence.
*Take prayer breaks during the day, just inviting the Holy Spirit into every moment of your life.
*Take time to worship. On your own, put on some gospel music and worship the Lord for the Lord inhabits the praise of His people (Psalm 22:3 KJV).
*Fellowship with others.
*Detach yourself from the world often. Find days where you intentionally spend the entire time in His presence, studying His word, watching sermons and praying.
*Set boundaries for what you watch, listen to and engage with.

I sincerely pray that the Lord places an indescribable hunger to get closer to Him in our hearts. The desire has always been to burn and He is the one who sets us ablaze so the closer we get to Him, the more we can burn for Him. So God help us🤎!

See you next week God willing!😚

It’s easy to fall out of love with the Lord due to multiple distractions.

We fall in love with Him because we understand Him and His ways a bit more and this understanding comes in the place of intimacy. However, when we stop being intimate with the Lord and allow other stuff to capture our hearts and fill our thoughts, we fall out of love with Him because He is no longer the Centre of it all.

But that shouldn’t be, because we understand how much pleasure we receive when He is the only thought that fills our minds. We understand that we were created to be intimate with Him and to have continuous communion and fellowship with Him. We understand that our sole purpose is to bring Him glory and once we are out of line of this purpose, we are opposing the very will of God and we don’t want that.

So let’s fall back in love with Him. Let’s intentionally spend time in His presence and allow Him to reveal Himself to us. All it takes is to have a posture of surrender and let the Holy Spirit know that you need Him sincerely in this walk of faith.

I know this message is quite short but sometimes the Lord just wants to remind you to keep your eyes and heart on Him🤎

Conviction- becoming aware of your sinful nature and diversion from the path of righteousness

The convicting nature of the Holy Spirit
Is it good?
Yes indeed.

  • It pushes us unto the path of righteousness

  • It breaks bondages

  • It frees us from chains

  • It ultimately leads us to live holy lives ( lives set apart for the glory of God)

How the Spirit works?

He makes us uncomfortable in our sin or unfaithfulness to the Lord. When Peter denied Jesus three times, conviction fell upon him so heavily that he wept bitterly ( Luke 22:54-62) . Some may say Peter felt guilty in that situation but I believe he was convicted. This is because, after realizing the act he had committed, Peter turned back to the Lord and lived a life following Christ wholeheartedly. The Spirit makes us realize our uncleanliness in a loving manner. He doesn’t judge but corrects and disciplines. Scripture speaks on how the Lord disciplines those He loves ( Hebrews 12:6).

Let’s allow the Spirit to convict us and work on us fully because through His Work, we establish God’s plan for His creation.
