the surrendered child

These words usually has a negative connotation but let’s look at them from a different angle today. Just a two minute read so keep your eyes glued here!

Vulnerability

This state has always been associated with weakness or fragility but maybe God sees something else. I haven’t been on this earth for a long time so I don’t know if its always been this way but people don’t like to be vulnerable, when necessary. We love to bottle up our feelings, neglect the emotions we feel inside and hate admitting our flaws. But there’s nothing wrong with accepting a flaw or pointing out a weakness because the Lord said in our weakness, His power is made perfect ( 2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

Vulnerability opens up so many doors in relationships, especially in our relationship with God. Let the Lord know your softest spot or weakest trait. Give Him room in your heart to work on the fruits that are not of the Spirit and allow Him to plant seeds that would bear good fruit. Be open with the Holy Spirit while simultaneously showing reverence to Him because He is still God. Allow Him to love you with His sweet words in Psalm 139. Be open.

Transparency

To be transparent simply means to be frank. For a relationship to thrive both parties always have to be honest. God cannot lie for He is not human ( Numbers 23:19). Thus, for our relationship with God to thrive we must be very honest and transparent with God.

Now someone will say “ hOW cAn I eVeN Lie To God?”

My answer is: it’s not necessarily uttering a false statement but not being transparent about how you feel or what you think and such.

For instance, there are days when pride may settle in our hearts because of some external source of praise but being transparent with God allows us to tell Him our shortcoming and ask Him to uproot the pride.

We must let Him know everything , even though He already does, because it allows us to spend more time in fellowship with Him and ultimately draws us closer to Him.

( Check out Psalm 39 to see how transparent King David was with his shortcoming).

Two tips for the week

Be vulnerable with the Lord

Be transparent with the Lord

He is His presence

I’ve been listening to Elevation and Maverick City's new album recently and each song hits differently.

I recently got an amazing revelation of what is to come in my life and knowing how far I’ve come, I couldn’t be more joyful that I’m able to hear from the Lord in divine ways.

*Last year by this time I could barely get myself out of bed and on the days I did, I would cry myself to sleep again.

*Last year by this time I could barely have a three course meal without feeling nauseous.

*Last year by this time I could barely imagine making it to the end of 2020

His grace is definitely sufficient because in my weakness the Lord portrayed His strength .

I believe that everything I have gone through has to be shared and everything that I’m yet to go through has to be shared because I would never wish for anyone to experience half of the spiritual warfares the Lord has pulled me out of.

Just know that the Lord wouldn’t put you through anything He knows you can’t endure because He’s not a wicked saviour

There’s a lot the Holy Ghost has been placing on my heart to share with His children; He has literally been bombarding me.

Firstly, there’s more to come. You and I have access to more in the spiritual realm, so allow Him to make your cup run over.

*Make room for an overflow

*Don’t have stagnant faith

*Don’t get comfortable with where you are with your relationship with the Lord

*Desire more

*Be intentional

*Make him “THE” priority not “A” priority

You have to understand that having a relationship with the Lord isn’t “A” blessing but it’s “THE” blessing

Don’t get used to the glimpse of Heaven, fight to have the tangibility of Heaven because it’s not too far

Information moves but revelation transforms

Know for yourself

Hear for yourself

See for yourself

Experience it for yourself

You should definitely listen to Old Church Basement(an album by Maverick City Music x Elevation Worship) you wouldn’t regret it!! :)

A chosen vessel

In a world where everything has an alternate rapid route, it’s hard to be consistent. I mean, people pick fast food over home cooked meals, as long as there’s food, they’re good. People pay ridiculous fees for processes to be sped up , whether it’s legal or illegal. We are all just in a hurry to place that gives us more satisfaction and happiness. Moreover, we can’t be consistent.

But in the kingdom of God, God honours consistency. Let’s take a look at

our brother Peter

*the rock

*the guy who assumed he was Jesus’ bestie

In Mark 16:7, after Jesus is raised from the dead ( Hallelujah!🥳), the ladies at the tomb meet an angel and this angel basically briefs them on what just happened. These ladies are awestruck, as they should be. The angel then tells them to go and tell the disciples and Peter what he just told them. Peter is singled out! Wow!

This is because Jesus had named Peter the rock which is because Peter was consistent. Peter always placed himself in a position to be close to Jesus. When Jesus was walking on water in Matthew 14:22-36, Peter opted to join Him on the water. Peter didn’t even want Jesus to die ( Matthew 16:22)! In all this, Peter’s only motive was to be close to the Son of God and he was consistently following this motive!

Consistency births revelation because it leads you into deeper realms of intimacy. The more time you spend with someone, regardless of how each encounter goes, the more intimate you become with that person. Thus the more knowledge you gain of that individual. It is the exact same thing with God. This is why Paul urges us to run our race in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, because once we are consistent on the track we will definitely get our eternal crown.

So continue praying, worshipping, reading the Bible, fellowshipping, evangelising, interceding because we don’t focus on earthly prizes and applauds but we focus on what is unseen, the eternal matters of this life ( 2 Corinthians 4:18).

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

See you next time!
