Fresh fire/wind 🔥💨
Scenario
You went for a Christian event and the presence of the Holy Spirit was so strong. At that moment, you felt so close to God.Some days after the event, that fire you had from the event vanishes and it seems as though you’re back where you left off. As Christians, it is our daily duty to ask for fresh fire or a fresh wind. This is simply a fresh outpouring of the Holy Ghost. Daily, we are being sanctified. Our minds are being renewed and our hearts are being moulded into that of Christ’s. The Holy Spirit does all of this and we need to ask Him to fill us up each and every day.
Why we need a fresh fire/wind
In Matthew 6:34, Jesus makes it known that each day has its own trouble but asking for a fresh wind from the Spirit of God will strengthen us for these battles.
Having a fresh fire from the Holy Spirit allows you to always be in your natural state ( close to the Father). Man was made for communion with the Father so when we aren’t doing that, we are not fulfilling the purpose we were created for. However, having a fresh fire everyday changes that.
Lastly, having a fresh wind from the Holy Spirit allows you to be what God has called you to be, the salt and light on the earth. We have been appointed by the Lord to represent His kingdom on this earth and bring change by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. We do not conform to our surroundings but transform our societies by being the salt ( Matthew 5:13)and light ( Matthew 5:14).
Prayer
Dear Lord,
I want to be where you want me to be. I desire to burn for you, oh Lord. So I ask that you give me a fresh fire oh Lord. I ask for a fresh outpour of the Holy Ghost in my life. Spirit of God, fill me up until I overflow. I want to be what you have called me to be, dear Lord. In Jesus’ name
