vulnerability & transparecny

These words usually has a negative connotation but let’s look at them from a different angle today. Just a two minute read so keep your eyes glued here!

Vulnerability

This state has always been associated with weakness or fragility but maybe God sees something else. I haven’t been on this earth for a long time so I don’t know if its always been this way but people don’t like to be vulnerable, when necessary. We love to bottle up our feelings, neglect the emotions we feel inside and hate admitting our flaws. But there’s nothing wrong with accepting a flaw or pointing out a weakness because the Lord said in our weakness, His power is made perfect ( 2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

Vulnerability opens up so many doors in relationships, especially in our relationship with God. Let the Lord know your softest spot or weakest trait. Give Him room in your heart to work on the fruits that are not of the Spirit and allow Him to plant seeds that would bear good fruit. Be open with the Holy Spirit while simultaneously showing reverence to Him because He is still God. Allow Him to love you with His sweet words in Psalm 139. Be open.

Transparency

To be transparent simply means to be frank. For a relationship to thrive both parties always have to be honest. God cannot lie for He is not human ( Numbers 23:19). Thus, for our relationship with God to thrive we must be very honest and transparent with God.

Now someone will say “ hOW cAn I eVeN Lie To God?”

My answer is: it’s not necessarily uttering a false statement but not being transparent about how you feel or what you think and such.

For instance, there are days when pride may settle in our hearts because of some external source of praise but being transparent with God allows us to tell Him our shortcoming and ask Him to uproot the pride.

We must let Him know everything , even though He already does, because it allows us to spend more time in fellowship with Him and ultimately draws us closer to Him.

( Check out Psalm 39 to see how transparent King David was with his shortcoming).

Two tips for the week

Be vulnerable with the Lord

Be transparent with the Lord
